I had the same problem with 10.2.4 and the December 2002 developer tools, and crafty 19.3... I didn't track the problem down to COMPACT_ATTACKS... that's good to know. I did notice, however, that the problem didn't go away when I took the optimization switches out of CFLAGS. Perhaps it's something broken in the compiler besides the optimizer. Do you see this as well (i.e. doesn't run right with COMPACT_ATTACKS but without any optimization)? -- Paul
