For your last question, i think that you should try out different personalities, given of course that he agrees to more games, but no matter what the # of games is, i think that it is important to have the default settings play one game, so if he only wants to play one game, then use the default for that (this is my view only and just a suggestion) if he goes for more than one game i suggest starting with the default settings and then move on to more extreme settings, this way we will get a better picture of what DS is capable of.
