After an interesting opening, GMI Samb got an open attack. But Buggy had a flexible defense and succeeded to neutralize the position. For a long while, the draw seemed unavoidable. Fortunately, between move #30 and move #40, the position became a little bit more complicated. For a moment, Buggy was quite happy with its position, but the advantage in the endgame was not important enough for a victory. The score of the 1st set is then 2-2. A third game will be played tomorrow (start at 9:00 GMT+1) followed by a tie-break (at 16:00) if necessary. La deuxième partie du match a pendant longtemps suivi le même chemin que la première. Après une ouverture intéressante (31-26 17-22), Samb obtint une position d'attaque ouverte. Buggy cependant, avec une défense flexible, et tous les pions importants en place, réussit à neutraliser la position sans difficultés. Alors qu'une nulle semblait presque inévitable, la partie s'anima finalement entre le 30ème et le 40ème temps. Buggy eut pendant un moment un important avantage, mais finalement, la fin de partie obtenue ne fut pas assez avantageuse pour être gagnante. Le score du 1er set est donc désormais de 2-2.
