Maybe the advantage is simply an illusion of the humans that wrote the NCO. Can you with the help of programs get advantage with white against programs in these openings? I never saw kasparov playing the Cochrane gambit(he could try in the matches against karpov) so I suspect that it is not a sound gambit. Uri
