Sorry, when I say "adapter" I'm actually talking about the transformer. So all you need to find is a transformer that outputs 9V @ 1Amp (DC I presume). And of course the plug has to fit too! Still, I think your local Radio Shack should be able to help you there. Cheers, Tom.
