You've led the Radio Shack clerk astray, I believe. You don't care a twit about
the 240V, 250V, 50-60Hz, or the 10A. These are the line-in voltages, hertz, and
amperage, and forget them unless you're moving down under.

What you do care about is the output from the little transformer: 9Volts, 1A.
You should find out if the output is DC (likeley) or AC. If you show the
little transformer to the clerk, he may be able to tell, right now.

So what you need from Radio Shack is a step-down transformer that will
give you 9Volts, 1A, and either DC or AC for current characteristics. Naturally,
he'll look to give you something that will plug into the wall in the US, for
it's line-in power.
