Crafty clones -- there have been 3 or 4 (can't remember). One admitted the cloning and the others tried to pretend it was original. There are lots of TSCP modifications where the author never gave Tom credit. That sort of move I credit to sheer ignorance, since you are not going to have a world beater without a major surgery and a good deal of understanding of how a chess program should work.
