Hi Dann, >>I cant put >>EXChess-TSCP a clone because I havent tested them yet, so I cant say anything >>about them. Also, i forgot to put this clone: DelphiMax- MiniMax clone, Matin >>Bauer say that to me and it appears on its homepage so you CANT disscuss about >>that one. > >A derivative would probably be a better term. He had to translate all the >algorithms to a different language, since minimax was written in BASIC and C (if >it is the Chrilly Donninger one). In any case, if he gives proper credit it is >not a problem unless the original author has forbidden derivative works. EXACTLY that is it... in the book "Schach am PC" there are some chapters where this MiniMAX is described and they OFFER it as a starting point. Only thing they want to have was that you should mention it. That is fair. But a total SHAME is it when someone walks along, takes a source of something of Masterstrength, changes some printf's and tell everybody: "Hey, take a look at my new great engine"... Especially when the same persons was already kept once as doing the same thing. In the CSS-Master with Tiger... I don't know if maybe Christophe is interested in that... Also he states that he has contacts to ChessBase for offering it them as a commercial engine... Sorry, my english dictionary in my head has not the correct words what I would say in german about such a person... Greets, Thomas
