I assume that you can do this on the same machine, provided that the machine doesn't run in XP. I say this because Bob Pawlek recently posted an article about running rebel 12 inside of the chessassistant interface. Since I use shredder paderborn inside of chessassistant ( I play sshredder, then after I lose, I let tiger annotate my blunders) it should be only a small problem to create an engine-engine match in this interface for non XP OS users.--because ed's rebel XP won't yet run in XP dos shell.
