your XP2600+ Pavillion will be fine. it will have WinXP with many programs and
software loading on bootup. I would recommend if you get this sytem run it for
several weeks, if no bugs, errors, crash, bsod, etc., then you can start to
clean it up. my Winxp boots fast, lean tray, nothing in background, etc.

my pcs are homemade. your hp will be very fast.
let us know how you like it, and post some chess benchtests.
