You are going to lose anyway, if it is a big fail-low.  Might as well search
until the cows come home or you find something better.

Hopefully there might be a better move.  You might also be in a completely lost
position.

If you have a big fail-low, it is time for desperate measures.  If you lose a
full piece, better search as long as you are able.  Even a one pawn loss is
incredibly damaging when playing against a computer.
