No

The simplest thing to do is to play the first move in your pv array.

The only problem is wrong fail high but you can decide not to put the move of
the fail high in the pv if you are afraid of wrong fail high.

Playing the move that you had after 10 plies demands more efforts because you
need to remember the results of previous search inspite of the fact that your pv
was changed.

There are ways to improve it and using a constant time to decide when to play is
not the best idea.
