I was thinking in terms of the last few years since around Fritz 6 probably
around the year 2000 though Fritz 5.32 also topped the ssdf list at some point
in 1998/9.

Although there have been gaps where as you say others have topped the ssdf list,
I would guess that Fritz has been top more than most during that period.
