Now it doesn't surprise much. playing style very similar to deep blue. i would guess that if deep blue played online it would play similar to deepviolet. No short term tactical mistakes, which in 1997/1998 of course kicked butt. but nowadays it gets outsearched and evaluation is inferior. took until dual K7 before diep really was better than it tactical seen.
