Subject: Question on turning your company on and off

I have heard people say thru the years to just always leave your computer
running and not to turn it off. That its hard on a computer to be cold-booted
like that. But I dont like the idea of running a computer 24x7 with the fans
always running and electricity always being run. I just run a simple home
computer system and dont need it up all the time. Its a pent 3 1ghz, 256 ram.
I have left it on for close to 2 years without ever turning it off but maybe a
few times. Im getting anew AMD 2600+, 512 ram next week, and wonder if i should
do the same? or shut it down at night and when im at work? What do u guys
think?
