I think really all that needs to be done is to stop promoting man vs. machine matches as if they were "against your typical home computer" -- I may be able to buy Fritz or Junior, but I don't have an 8- or even a 4-processor machine with all the other bells and whistles. The "home grandmaster killer" is still a long way off, and is what most laypeople are really interested in (but feel due to recent news coverage that we have already acheived.)
