Congratulations for your great tournament of 120'/40. I have been suprised from the bad place of Shredder 6.02, i expected to be in the first three places. Also Ruffian was extremely solid and was really close to second Fritz. What's your opinion about the bad result of Shredder 6.02? It did worst even from Hiarcs 7.32. I think that the book is responsible for all that. I wonder if for testing program's strength,it is better to use the same book for all or to use for every engine, a book that suits better with it's playing style (This is usually the book which comes with the engine - not always). So Shredder with the book of Hiarcs may be 30-40 ELO points weaker than with Shredder6.ctg. Anyway in your next tournament, please give the PGN files every 4-5 rounds and not at the end.
