Subject: Why not tablebases.

What is the reason why all brand new programs coming to market do not use
tablebases or just a few of them? Do some programmers feel that tablebases are
not that useful in helping to give their programs stronger play, or is the
possible rating gain to small to go through the trouble of programming this
feature into their programs. Does anyone know the rating difference for Crafty
or Ferret using full tablebase functions and the same programs using no
tablebases?
