you don't need WB engines to get them ready for fritz gui.
all you need is an engine (DOS e.g.)
that supports the auto232 format.

take 2 machines, bring the auto232 program on machine A.

take machine b.

create an UCI engine that calls wb2uci.
winboard232d.exe uses the auto232 information and makes it
possible to autoplay with WB engines.

both programs together make it possible to run ANY auto232
program under chessbase GUI's.

this way you can log into chessbase server with NON chessbase programs.
e.g. with DOS programs like mchess or rebel or wchess or or or or or...
