I immediatley saw this move and it certainly has to be calculated.
40...Kxb5 41.Qxd5+ Ka4 (Kb4 42.Qd6+ is a draw) 42.Ra1+ Kb4 43.Qd6+ Kc3 44.Ra3+
Kxc2 45.Ra2+ Kb1 46.Rf2!

And this position is most likely a draw,
