If Polgar had been down that much material with five minutes left on the clock she probably would have resigned. I think Crafty is less likely to resign in a zero-increment game with the opponent in time pressure, but perhaps I'm wrong. I think the kind Bob is more worried about are games with increment, which when added to net lag can add up to sizeable amount of time per move, with little chance of really significant time pressure that can cause you to flag when ahead by a rook. Mine never resigns. I'll resign for it sometimes if I see that it really has no chance of salvaging a half-point. But I have less inclination to resign if it's down a piece for some counterplay. bruce
