There's no telling what kind of costs they have to pay. The building space fees, probably insurance galore, etc. IF that is what they take home (after taxes), it is certainly not bad, but it's not exactly what I would call "hoarding money". I wonder if you have ever attended college and took out a studen loan. I know quite a few people who have done this, and they are still paying the loan back well into their 30's, and that's for a 4 year university, not 8+ years. One coulpe I know makes much more than a doctor, and they got done paying back college loans just recently. They are in their 30's. A husband and wife who are both school teachers will pull in close to $100,000 a year, and most people I know would certainly not consider that couple to be raking in the dough. The medical profession, at least in America, is not as well paying as one would think, since the insurance companies rape everyone they can. For instance, a pharmacy may purchase a prescription for many thousands of dollars, and when someone gets that prescription on their insurance, the insurance company may only reimburse as little as $1.50 more than the cost of the product. Wow, the medical proffession is really hoarding away money. Spending thousands of dollars to make...dollars. I know this because I worked at a pharmacy for over a year. Maybe you don't have insurance and that's what you base your view on, but I have a feeling you don't understand the situation with much depth. If you want to blame someone for high fees at doctor's visits, blame the insurance companies and the companies charging millions/billions for medicines that they research and discover. Of course, if you don't want the high prices, don't expect many new medicines. Bottom line is, the insurance companies rape the medical profession, not doctors. Besides, I wonder how much money Gata has made since he left chess. He is still a student, so I'm guessing, "not much" when compared to the multi-millions he could have made each year for the last several years.
