I read about them in the rec.games.chess.computer newsgroup archives at
http://groups.google.com in posts about EGTB's. AFAIK, it is the concatenation
of 6-bit values representing the squares of the pieces on the board. I'm not
exactly sure how it's used either. Maybe Dieter will explain in response to my
response to his response :)
