No I do not believe that the programmer can earn only 50$ if the program is 100
elo better than Fritz8.

Maybe you mean 50$ per copy but I asked about the total profit.

Why do you change the question?

You do not answer the question and I do not understand why the price needs to be
very high.

Your numbers suggests that only a gain of 12000*100=1200000$ is enough.
It means that you believe that the investment is of order of 1 miliion $'s
