Also, another reason for not wanting to go commercial would be that; when you go
commercial, and let's assume that you have someone like chessbase to take care
of your problems dealing with customers, you will indirectly have a sense of
responsibility to make your program even better and perhaps have pressure to
work on it harder than ussual when it was just a hobby.

I suppose most people doesn't want to go commercial, because the return is not
good.
However, there seems to be some exceptions.
