Well, for a certain pool of engines and a certain set of parameters, a tournament with exactly these engines and these parameters and enough games is a pretty good measurement then. :) The original statement from James T. Walker (Tournaments do nothing but produce a tournament winner. They do not reveal the "strongest program") indicate, that he defines "strongest program" different though. Sargon
