To answer your question directly: email Chessbase and ask them as soon as your
year's free Playchess membership has expired. I'm sure they will help you.

But... do you really only buy one Chessbase product a year? To give an example
from my own case: I'm still using the serial number I got from my Fritz 7
package. I'm not sure when my Playchess account will expire, but as soon as it
does I'll sign up for another free year using my Fritz 8 serial number. And
after that I'll get another free year using my Shredder 7 serial number. And
since I'm buying Tiger 15 this week I'll have another free year after that. At
this rate I'll be building up decades of free membership.
