I have linksys 802.11b AP/switch/routor and it works great. Personally I like
linksys's product better.

11 Mbs is marketing term, i never get that speed myself. 802.11b is always 2-3
times slower than old 10BaseT network.

In other words, if you want to move large data (endgame databases, movies etc)
around, you still need 100baseT or GigaBits network.

Since the price is not that much different between 11b and 11g or 11a, I'd just
get the fastest one now. In my case, the range is not a issue at all - it depend
on how many walls in between.

Get the modle with wireless access point, 100 BaseT switch, and routor all in
one. Then you can connect you main desktop machines using Cat 5 cable, and your
bootbook, handhelds etc via wireless. linksys also have usb wireless adapter and
you can use it to connect from other room which is impossible to laid cables.

Best,

Ren
