Too bad that version 8.008 is not being tested instead, since many tests by different people here has proven that it is stronger than version 8.0023. The Fritz 8 Version that you are testing is Fritz Version 8.0023? Not 8.008! Simply check under this directory C:\Program Files\ChessBase\Engines then right click on the icon for Fritz 8 ENG File 456 KB then left click on property it should say modified :Sunday, March 02, 2003, 11:18:34 PM then click on the upper right hand corner where it say Version # and, Oh No it is Version 8.0023? NOT the best version 8.008! PS: The reason why you could not find the version number is because You simply clicked on on the menu under Help, then you clicked where it say about Fritz 8, this will NOT give you a Fritz Version number, it will only provide you the statement that say "About Fritz 8 (March 6 2003) Jorge
