Here a short instruction of the program "Resource Hacker" - example:
changing Fritz7 logo:
1) Make a backup of the original file "Fritz 7.eng" (in folder
"...ChessBase\Engines") before.
2) Select a new logo for Fritz 7 in *.bmp format (e.g. called "Fritz 7.bmp) - a
good website for engine logos e.g. is by Wilhelm Hudetz
http://members.chello.at/grafixbywilhelm/index.html
3) Start the program "Resource Hacker" and go to "File" and "Open..."; select
file type "All files *.*" and select "Fritz 7.eng".
4) Open the folder "Bitmap" on the left side above by doubleclicking, then
folder "102"; click on "1031" with mouse left - in the right window the known
Fritz7 logo appears (in format 50x100)
5) go to menue "Action" and select "Replace Bitmap..."; in the right window
press the button "Open file with new bitmap..." and select the new Fritz7 logo
you wish (see point 2), the new logo appears below.
Select in "Select bitmap to replace" window "102" and press the button
"Replace"; the new Fritz 7 logo appears below.
6) Because Fritz 7 uses a bigger logo (format 65x130):
Repeat the steps 4) and 5) with the Bitmap folder "103" in the left side.
7) Close the programm "Resource Hacker", press button YES to the question
"...save changes" and give the name "Fritz 7.eng" (= replace old Fritz 7.eng) -
select again the file type "All files *.*.
8) Put this new file "Fritz 7.eng" in your folder "...ChessBase\Engines" and
start your program ChessBase program - the new Fritz 7 logo appears.
