With the help of its interior-node recognizers and its endgame databases "DarkThought" solves 23/24 at 60 sec. per move on a 600MHz Alpha-21164a. The only position it does not solve is the following. > svfe k7/7K/NR6/8/7p/6p1/p7/8 w - - > srch Nb8 Here, "DarkThought" suggests to play Nb4 which it evaluates as a draw. If Nb8 also leads to a draw, "DarkThought" might have found a second possible solution. =Ernst=
