Imagine a sport where the players had to pay an entrance fee to enter/play.
Imagine that if the player does not play well he gets nothing for his time. But
imagine that the winner will get a very big prize for winning. This happens all
the time in golf, bowling, tennis, snooker, billiards etc. GM's are idiots and
that's why most of them can't make a decent living playing chess. GM's had
their chance a few years ago when they could still beat the programs. Programs
are passing them by and pretty soon there will be zero money available to see a
GM get trounced by a computer program. Their time will have passed and the GM's
will still be crying for more money to do nothing.
