I agree, there is another very important feature overlooked by many chess client programmers. It was noticed during a game with Sargon 5 by activision for the PC circa 1991. A little squirrel runs across the screen periodically. Fun! A mechanical arm reaches for the computers pieces when it moves while a human arm reaches for the human..only problem is the knights are allowed to be placed on illegal squares for a short while in which case the hand and arm retract to remove the piece.
