Whenever I search through archives in unix, I just run unix commands. I have all
of the files in one directory, and do something like:

# to get posts by you
ls -1 | xargs fgrep 'From: Daniel Clausen'

# to get posts by you, containing the word linux
ls -1 | xargs fgrep 'From: Daniel Clausen' | xargs fgrep 'linux'

It's slow, but it works. To view the files, you could just add a 'more' (or
less, or whatever) on the end. Like:

ls -1 | xargs fgrep 'From: Daniel Clausen' | xargs fgrep 'linux' | less

For a fast search, you probably need some kind of database instead of searching
flat files.
