Thnanks dave but I still have less than required mem (as stated by the Battle chess program itself) under the windows dos prompt it runs but no sound (certain) effects and indeed isn't ems a problem under win ME? hmmmmmmm.......Aalex I was under the impression that Battle Chess used conventional memory, only, not ems. How close are you to having what you need for memory according to the Battle Chess program? Are you using the Win98 computer or the WinME currently? Dave
