there is no question that the Palm Pilot will be stronger and faster then even the highest rated dedicated unit,however there are some dedicated units that can play a pretty strong game: Mephisto Atlanta Novag Sapphire II Excalibur Karpoc 2294 etc.etc however for me,strenght of play is not my main interest a beautiful wooden board and pieces,features ,and the rarity of the model is why i collect chess computers but all of your comments are well taken..
