Go up one level in this thread
AMD 2200+, 1.8 GHz, 64 MB hash, Remis.ctg for both programs, Alternate colours
checked (IMO this is best for engine matches), All 3,4,5
Of course these were only 5 min blitz games.
Nevertheless I'm surprised Chessmaster won with Selectivity = 12.
I thought this is NOT the best setting for blitz games ?!
Here is my InitString:
InitString=cm_parm default\ncm_parm opk=123456 pp=100 pw=100 cfd=0 sop=100 avd=5
rnd=0 sel=12 md=99 opp=90 opn=95 opb=96 opr=95 opq=95 myp=90 myn=96 myb=97
myr=96 myq=96 mycc=110 mymob=110 myks=145 mypp=100 mypw=100 opcc=120 opmob=115
opks=140 oppp=105 oppw=100
My idea was to get an eval like Shredder (or maybe Deep Junior).
More positional and less materialistic.
In fact it is more optimistically than Shredder in the middle game
and a bit less optimistically in the endgame.
Of course this settings could be optimized further for blitz games
and also for longer time controls.
The match was very close and I got the impression both programs are almost
equal.
However Chessmaster had no tablebase support in the search and lost a couple
of completely drawn endgames.
Of course we dont know at all how this setting would perform against other
programs or at longer time control but it should perform great against humans.
Here is game Nr.100:
