I think they can. Most people don't have such a mind for that, however. Unless there are technical reasons why the moves could sometimes be different. E.G. the opening book moves are always the same time (0?) but there might be a different proportion of time per move if there is say 10 moves left or 20 moves left, or if the overall time (for twice as many moves) is doubled. But really, I think It COULD be calculated to avoid this problem also. S.Taylor
