Thanks again for all the detailed help.

My S7 is a legal copy. I do not approve of software piracy.

I have now created a new account on Playchess, using the S7 original interface
installed on my computer, plus the original CD in the CD drive in case it was
needed.

Playchess asked for my serial number, which I entered from my S7 Manual. It was
accepted, no problem.

Then I queried for an update. It said I had Version 1, and offered me an update
to Version 8. I am currently downloading that GUI8.iup update.

I will test the startup again, later today (after work), to see if the new GUI
fixes the memory problem.

Have a great day, and thanks again (to all),
--Steve
