I can't imagine in what way it should do any harm to your system, unless it
overwrites important information (in which case you'd see problems right from
the start and not some time in the future).
If you want to get rid of it because you feel uncomfortable, there are many ways
to do so. An easy one is using the search function in Windows to search by date.
A more sophisticated one is using one of the programs which monitor any
installation process for created files and registry changes.
