But even doing the method Mihaly just posted doesn't work: for example: ..snip... Visible=Ponder,Hash,Logfile,Extras [EXTRAS] Max Depth (md)=cm_parm md=%i|spin|1|0|999 ...snip... In theory that would allow me to set the max depth, defaulting to 1. It shows up all right under engine parameters, but the engine will never stop its search at "1"... as if it has no impact. -Brian
