Usually patches are created to not require CD-checks.
I have to admit that I didnt knew that the CD is still required.

The main problem are the people who create those patches.
I think one shouldnt blame (or criminalize) the legal owners who decided to get
rid of CD requirement. This is only my opinion and I think we shouldnt discuss
this subject here.
