If your other chess program(s) support an Auto 232 connection - as Genius 7 does
too AFAIK - you could match them even on one single computer: Required are 2
free serial ports and a simple serial cable ("nullmodem cable") to connect them.
I've recently tried that with various programs: worked. One GUI uses i.e. port
#1, the other #2 and they communicate like it was intended to be used with two
computers.
Since most modern peripherals aren't connected to the serial ports but to ohters
like PS2, USB etc., many comps will meet the requirement to play Auto 232
matches on one computer. Of course you should disable pondering* in both
programs for that purpose.
