It depends on how you define "learn". If you mean if a program modifies itself: no, that doesn't happen. If you mean a program modifies some eval weights, there're programs capable to do it, but with little success so far. We can create eval terms, programs can't. What most programs call learning is just collecting information and modifying some probabilities. Some programs also add moves to the book based on their search and results. José C.
