The major features of the Fritz 8 update are bug fixes in the GUI. For instance, the version on the CD has problems resuming a Swiss engine tournament, but the update fixes this. To answer Charles' question: Register a Playchess accout using the serial number on the Fritz 8 manual. The next time you log in using that account an upgrade will be offered automatically.
