This is generally considered to be the "ultra-orthodox" Jewish view, and I am a follower of them, though even if there were a hundred Israelis/Jews on this forum, I would guess that there would not even another ONE who follows it!!! Well, nevertheless, it is mainstream Judaism, which is that the Jewish (messianic) redemption is still being awaited, ever since the destruction of the second temple, and that redemption will not be a man-made affair! And it is a Jewish obligation (of the heart) to be "hoping" for that salvation, and it is one of the first questions asked to every soul which comes for judgement, immeadiately after death in this world "Did you hope for salvation"? And it is that which is said will bring it about i.e. if enough Jews want it, and it's very praisworthy to do so. And if not, it will come in its appointed time by force. (there are differences of opinion as to exactly when that is). And this is supposed to be hoped for all the time, non-stop. But the greatest enemy to that is by inventing ones own Jewish redemption. And the merry-=making on Israels independence day seems to signify that the redemtion HAS ALREADY COME, and therefore it mitigates any possibility of "hoping/waiting for the redemtion", and thereby further delays the real Messia etc. Which is a very big blow to the Jewish people. Therefore the most religous Jews do not celebrate independence day, except in error.
