Some time ago I tended to believe this too (and even longer time ago, I somewhat
doubted the quality of blitz computer games). But now, since two-digit depth of
10+, plus extensions, are reached even in blitz games, I don't doubt their
"chess quality" anymore...

OTOH, tests have shown that the *time controls* are most probably more decisive
for match results between two engines, than the computer speed. IOW, while
40/2h[Pentium II 500 MHz] and 40/2h[Pentium IV 2 GHz] will most probably give
very similar match results, 40/2h at 500 MHz will *not* be comparable to 40/30
minutes at 2 GHz, although that would be ~4 times the CPU speed and 1/4 of the
thinking time...
