The book says that mode X is the best for windows 95 but may not work for all computers. It reccomends you watch for the "Starting Windows 95 screen" and then press F8 so you can select the Safe mode (6) command. Then load the mouse into low memory. Then start M-Chess Pro in Mode X. Mode 3 is for 486/pentium computers. I always run MCP-5 in DOS so I haven't had this problem. Jim Walker
