Never owned Fritz 8.  I always base my values (of CPU speed) off Crafty.

My fastest system was my Dual AMD 1.73Ghz system.  With an optimized exe, I
could get 1.9M nps with Crafty 18.x.

I don't own any AMD systems anymore.  Of course a dual AMD system is going to be
faster than a HTing P4 system.  A good match up would be a dual P4 3.06Ghz
system versus an AMD MP 2800 system.  But I think the 2800+ system would win.
