Yes, it still works even if Kaufman was Kasparov playing the same position with
Black. Now the reason why Alekhine reached that advantageous position has a lot
to do with him being much stronger than his opponent. There are a lot of
positions that even chess Experts can see the correct continuation, but the
problem in a real chess game is to be able to get to that critical position.
Players like : Alekhine, Fischer, Kasparov and other great players make it seems
so easy once the position has been created for the perfect combination, but that
is why great GMs consider chess an art where they creat a position for their
perfect combination.
